I would like to invest in the 1D1F initiative. Looking at areas of cassava, maize and potatoes processing using produce from network of existing farmers to feed the factories.
My concern is that the total national production based on 2015 data is woefully too low for any commercial processing . So in my view to get any critical economic production mass in any area do not seem feasible. What do you think ?
Personally, I believe there is huge potential to produce the commodities for processing. Farmers, besides the challenge of unfavourable weather, produce just enough for the market available. Farmers, with little incentives, are so willing to produce enough to feed the industries.
Noble, we must consider potentials and that gives hope to the current data on production levels.
